SPIRAL TRAX

ALBUM

Human Blue is one of the original Spiral Trax artists who have been with us from the beginning. During the years he has gained a strong following and respect in the trance scene and he is now about to release his third album.

With his last album ‘Electric Roundabout’ and the single ‘Carpe Diem / Intercity’ Dag Wallin soon became a favourite with DJs such as John 00 Fleming and we have even heard unconfirmed reports of Tiesto playing his music.

Electrolüx continues in the same style. There are some tougher tracks but Dag has still kept his unique melodic style and some of the tracks have already been getting huge support around the world.

‘ Rollercoaster’ from the recent single is the melodic anthem on the album while ‘Demon Dance’ and ‘Soulsqueezer’ will attract fans of more psychedelic trance. ‘In Between’, ‘Drag Queen’ and ‘Atom’ will for sure get attention with the Scandinavian progressive trance massive.

This is what John 00 Fleming, one of DJ Magazines Top 100 DJs, had to say about the album in his review for iDJ magazine,
” I am reviewing an album in the singles reviews, but I do not care! This is Trance, no I said Trance, real Trance with no fluffy bits so it deserved to be on the Trance page where it belongs. Thanks you God (and Spiral Trax) for bringing me this awesome album to save us from the cruel world of cheesy riffs!! 10 mind blowing tracks, Trance lovers BUY now!!!” (5/5)

“Division by Zero” is the long anticipated second album by Hux Flux, the originators of the Swedish psychedelic trance sound.
Four years ago Hux Flux released their well-received debut album “Cryptic Crunch” on Koyote Records, and they soon after became one of the most popular names in the psychedelic trance scene as well as one of the most influential acts for the Scandinavian trance movement. Many have attempted to copy their unique sound but none have come close.

Dennis Tapper founded Hux Flux after being inspired by the now legendary forest parties outside of Örebro.
Dennis’ first release, “Time Slices / Perceptor” was produced in1998. He was soon joined by Jonas Pettersson (later to form Logic Bomb), which resulted in the hugely successful debut album “Cryptic Crunch” in 1999. Hux Flux immediately became a popular live-act and jetting to exotic places such as India, Russia, Morocco, Brazil and South Africa soon became a way of life for Dennis.

Later Dennis moved to Stockholm and started producing with his old friend Henrik Fietz. The first release from that partnership was the now classic track, “Idiot”, featured on the “A Progress in Trance” compilation on Transient; a compilation that has become a landmark in the development of the Scandinavian trance sound. It was compiled by Spiral Trax’s DJ Anti and rocketed many of the artists featured on the album into psy-trance superstardom.

After a few sporadic releases on various labels, Hux Flux released the single “Lex Rex Perplex/ Errorhead” on Spiral Trax in 2000 and plans for an album was made. Due to unfortunate circumstances the work had to be postponed for nearly a year. Finally, after many delays and problems, the long awaited second album is about to be released. The timing couldn’t be better since the neo full-on is sweeping the dancefloors of the universe, one of the original psychedelic trance outfit is back to rock the world.

In 1999 Kilian Horvath released his first single as XV Kilist on Spiral Trax International. It was a huge success and made XV Kilist a recognized name in the progressive wave that was sweeping the psychedelic trance scene.
He gradually became to play a big role in the musical development of this scene together with other Spiral Trax acts such as Atmos and Noma. Two years later XV Kilist released his self-titled debut album that became a milestone in the minimal trance movement.

Kilian started playing violin at the age of nine. When he realized that playing an electric guitar was a lot cooler, he moved on to start a band. After four years of playing funk, the band split up and Kilian decided to study jazz in Luzern, Switzerland. The theory of music didn’t turn out to be his cup of tea and so he left a year after. He soon discovered that the weird sounds at trance parties were his thing; music with no boundaries and no rules. Kilian eventually developed his own unique sound, minimal, very rhythmic and with a heavy influence from his early funk days but still with a twisted touch of trance.

Today Kilian runs a studio and the label Traktor Schalllabor with Ramon “Rocco” Rocchinotti. They are also acting as label managers for Gonso, one of the labels from ZAP Music. During the last five years Kilian and Rocco have been working together in various projects such as Lounge Control, Kilophil, Fiasko Systems, Rough Cuts and Uwe B.

Alfa Aroma is the second artist album from XV Kilist, an album for which he decided to once again join the Spiral Trax collective. His first album was a great success for the label and it is an honour for us to release the follow-up.
Alfa Aroma takes off right where the debut album had left us, in the typical XV Kilist style but with a clubbier feel.
Kilian has once again surpassed the boundaries by developing his own unique style into a trance-house hybrid.

‘Carrier Track’ is the second album from Stress Assassin, one of Sweden’s most distinguished dub producers. His debut album, ‘Within the office of eye and ear’ from last year, was a huge success and received great reviews everywhere. The Swedish music magazine, ‘Groove’ even claimed it to be “…one of the best albums of the year”!

Stress Assassin is Henrik Jonsson, a dedicated graffiti artist and a collector of 70’s dub records.
Henrik has a broad artistic background: He has been studying in an art academy for three years, played in various bands and simultaneously participated in many exhibitions. Additionally, he has performed on open stages for expressionistic art, combining music and visual arts with parties.

On ‘Carrier Track’ Henrik takes us on a journey down the dirty, dusty roads of dub, through lush, vast ambient landscapes to downbeat grooves from the Scandinavian shores.

Or in his own words:

“Carrier Track
This is the 2nd Stress Assassin album for Spiral Trax.
Slow music, observations, memories, sketches...
The Stress Assassin project works with the states one would experience,
Like when you swim in the ocean under the surface
Or when exploring long concrete tunnels,
Taking a walk straight into a forest, what ever.
That’s just what this music is about, a soundtrack, a picture in sound,
Or better yet a carrier track…”
