->what are you doing when you´re not playing music?
Right now I spend a lot of time in the computer and the machines making
some music,
I am also co-producing a weekly psytrance radio show on 96.9 WFM.
Also planning some parties (chaishop tour, sounds of earth, etc),
and arranging some bookings. I finished my career and even started a master
degree a few months ago,
but I decided to focus on music and djing in this moment.
->you´re the man behind chaishop mexico , tell me a bit about your community
over there !?
Well me and Geza started Chaishop Mexico on 2000,
what we want to do with this space is to show a little bit of our scene to the
people from other countries.
Our scene has been growing up very fast on the last couple of years,
I think now it is definitely one of the most important scenes in America.
->What are your origins how did you come to music???
Since I was a child I was always in contact with music,
I always loved and enjoyed it a lot.
Later I learned to play guitar and then I got into metal/trash sounds and played
for some years in a band named Scourge,
in which I was the lead guitar.
At that time I went to my first rave/electronic music party and began to get
into it more and more...
the trash band broke up and then I started djing on 1997.
First I was more into breakbeats,
tech-house & progressive sounds.
After a little bit I got more into trance and psytrance.
I think that´s why my set is open to all kind of sounds
->Why did you decide to become a DJ?
I had always believe in music as a free way of expression,
I think through music you can transmit everything.
What I want to do as a dj is to transmit something special with this music,
to connect with the energy of the dancefloor and take it to a special journey.
->What do you think of the today's scene in general? What trends is it taking,
what moments you like or dislike?
I really like the way that trance music is going now,
it is very open to new sounds,
you can find a little bit of different styles in trance music today;
I love that!.
I like what is happening now, the scene is going global,
the sounds are reaching new spaces,
places and cultures.
I think the most important moment is now, the present.
->What do you think of the growing number of the labels, artists and websites
like FREDERIKFLANGER.com and the quality of the music released nowadays?
I think is good and I think that was really necessary for the scene.
Now we have a lot of options and styles where to chose from.
Everybody is making music, thats awesome!!!
Also is really cool to hear good things from all over the world, the mix of
the trance music with the different countries/cultures is amazing.
Here in Mexico, people is starting to produce really nice sounds...
Frederikflanger.com is killer!!!
->Your favourites for the moment and what other (non trance) music do you
like?
Dj´s: James Monroe, Antaro, Auricular dj team, Anti.
Live Acts: Haldolium, Kopfuss Resonator, Wrecked Machines.
I think right now more than 90% of the music I listen is electronic music,
I also like a lot listening and playing chill-out music,
and also some breakbeats, etc.
I also like experimental & classical music,
I am very open to listen all kind of things.
->How and when did you come to trance music, to producing and to your first
gigs?
To produce a little bit more seriously I think it was just a year ago when
I started to buy some equipment.
My first gig was in 1997 in a really weird Halloween party,
was lots of fun!
->When did you started making Parties?
In 1998 I formed a production crew named Psyrcle and we did a very underground
party on a little warehouse,
was very cool party.
Then in 1999 we did our first psy trance party with some djs from San Francisco.
On 2000 our crew joined forces with Metta productions crew and formed Sounds
of Earth productions and we did our first big trance party;
Antaro was the special guest & more than 2500 people went to this party.
On 2001 we did another really big party with Shiva Chandra & Mapusa Mapusa.
The last year we decide to make parties for a little bit less of people,
the last big party we did was on december 2001;
dj Sangeet was the special guest.
Sounds of Earth is now planning a couple of very nice parties for this year
J
->What does it mean for you playing and producing and organising things!?
Means everything,
I love playing on parties,
I love the contact and the reaction of the people.
I like to communicate something through the music.
Also organising parties means a lot,
we always want to give the people and extraordinary experience,
an unforgettable trip...
->Which DJs and acts have influenced your style?
Antaro,
Shiva Chandra,
Sasha & John Digweed,
Oliver Klein,
X-Dream,
Etnica,
S-Range,
Atmos,
SBK,
Cass,
Tristan,
Tegma,
James Monroe,

->What was the best, funniest or strangest experience in your career???
The best was the Voov Experience,
the dancefloor was full after Hallucinogen´s set and was an amazing experience
for me and Geza.
A really funny experience happened in one party where I was playing in the morning
and all the dj cabin felt down,
I couldn´t believe what happened,
I just started laughing like crazy,
I think somebody recorded that on video,
I am looking for this guy hehehe
->What are your releases/events until now?
There is one track that I did with Dj Geza (4WindsCircle)
that is coming out on Hadshot soon.
And I just sold a track for a Mexican compilation on BMG Mexico that is coming
out on may-june.
My biggest events have been Voov Experience in Germany,
Ypy Poty & Tranceformation festivals in Brasil,
Earth Dance Mexico and our parties.
->What are your futurities, upcoming releases, upcoming events???
I am organising the Chaishop Tour for may-june,
